Revise/rewrite this resume to be targeted toward different the industry of [design/marketing or information systems]. This new version should reflect how my skills and experiences might be reframed to fit this specific industry. Make sure it can fit on one page with Times New Roman pt. 11 font.
These prompts guided the AI to emphasize skills most relevant to each audience, whether creativity and visual communication for marketing or analytical, organizational, and documentation-focused abilities for design and IS.
Compared to the original resume, the AI-generated versions reframed routine tasks into industry-relevant achievements and competencies. For marketing, descriptions highlighted design capability, collaboration, leadership, and customer-oriented service. For IS, the focus shifted to data accuracy, workflow coordination, inventory control, and compliance with procedural standards. Additional bullet points strengthened the relevance of roles like Graphic Designer and Customer Representative in both contexts.
This process demonstrated how effective prompt engineering can shape tone, focus, and structure. Being explicit about audience, formatting, and desired skills allows the same experiences to be repositioned for different industries, making content more targeted, professional, and impactful.
